Questions We Hear Before Every First Order
Honest answers to the questions distributors ask us most -- before committing to a first conversation.
Do you act as the manufacturer or as a trading and branding partner?
GaitExo is a trading and branding partner. We source products from qualified Chinese manufacturers -- primarily EULON (优龙机器人), which co-operates a joint human-robot integration laboratory with the Chinese Academy of Sciences Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology. We manage all export operations, documentation, and act as your single commercial and technical point of contact. You do not deal with the factory directly.
Do your products have CE marking?
No. Our products are not currently CE marked as medical devices under EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR 2017/745). We do not represent our products as CE-marked, and we do not use CE marking in any marketing materials. Products are exported as rehabilitation training equipment under HS Code 8479.89. Whether local medical device registration is required in your country depends on your national regulations, intended use, and clinical context -- this is a determination you make with your regulatory advisors. We provide complete technical documentation to support that assessment.
Can we really start with just one or two units?
Yes -- this is how every new partnership starts. A pilot of 1-2 units lets you validate clinical acceptance, customs clearance, and hospital interest before either party commits to larger volumes. We structure pilot terms to limit your financial exposure. Pilot unit pricing, payment terms, and delivery timelines are discussed individually based on your specific situation.
What is a realistic lead time for delivery to Europe?
Standard lead time from confirmed purchase order is 4-8 weeks, depending on product model and configuration. For pilot units we work to expedite where possible. Standard sea freight from Shenzhen to major European ports (Hamburg, Rotterdam, Gothenburg) takes approximately 25-35 days. Air freight is available for urgent requirements at additional cost. All logistics coordination is handled by GaitExo -- you receive products at your nominated delivery point.
Who is responsible for local medical device registration in my country?
You are, as the importer, together with your regulatory advisors. GaitExo is the trading and branding partner -- we are not the local medical device registrant in any European country. We provide a full technical documentation package including ISO 13485 quality management certificates, technical specifications, intended use statements, and instructions for use to support your regulatory assessment. The classification decision and any registration submissions are managed locally by you.
What territory exclusivity arrangements are available?
Territory arrangements are discussed individually based on your market coverage, hospital network size, and demonstrated commitment. We do not offer blanket exclusivity at the start of a new relationship -- it is something we build toward together after the pilot phase has demonstrated market traction. Our goal is to develop a small number of committed regional partners rather than a large network of non-exclusive distributors.
Secure Your Territory Today
Limited availability in prime German and Nordic regions. We are actively building a small network of committed distribution partners and can only support a limited number of new relationships at any one time. If you are considering this category, the right moment to start the conversation is now.
